Why is it that in order to fix ONE thing you have to go and destroy 5 other things in the process, therefore creating exponentially (that's for you Scott) more "projects" in the process??????? Didn't we just talk about this Steve?? Oh wait, you don't like blogs... you'll probably never read this!
Our fridge door won't close -- it's getting worse, LITERALLY, by the hour. We are having a new fridge delivered tomorrow (well, TODAY actually, it's 1AM!) but needed to run a water line to the wall behind the fridge in order to use the water/ice dispenser. We had to run it from the hall bathroom cold water line instead of the kitchen sink because... well, because things ALWAYS (seem) to have to be difficult. Me and Paul have been working since around 7:00 tonight and just finished. We had to mess with a bunch of plumbing things in the bathroom to hook things up, then he spent hours up in the nasty HIDEOUS attic trying to find the right walls to drop the water tubes down. I punched some good sized holes in the wall (mostly to release frustration) and under the sink so I could find the line. Sorry, blah blah blah -- bottom line -- it was a huge pain, but we have a great sense of accomplishment (kind of like when I hike Squaw Peak! Hate it the entire way up, but halfway down you realize "Wow! I made it!") and now we know some plumbing stuff (that I hope we never have to use again) The problem though is that now we have MORE projects, not less! We have to fix the cupboards/repaint the wall above the fridge that we had to tear out in order to fit the new fridge in -- we have holes in the wall to patch up (hee hee!), a tiny leak under the sink that needs some work, and a REALLY huge mess to clean up!!!

I will reluctantly say though that there were many GOOD things -- though it was our first attempt at couplings with plastic tubing and metal fittings, there was no leak up in the attic to rain down and ruin our ceilings. We had all the right parts and pieces and nobody got electrocuted, fell through the ceiling, or lost an eye.
We're tired!

Yep, we understand totally. All of our home projects turn into about 4 more that need to be fixed. :)

Your kind of home improvement sounds like my brother. He came home from the PH session of conference a couple of years ago and started busting out a hole above their stove for a ... fan, or something(?). Anyway, made a big mess which led to a fully remodeled kitchen. Sweet, eh?
